Royal N. Johnson has been writing and drawing stories since the age of four.

His love for comics began in 4th grade when a friend sold him his first manga—Yu-Gi-Oh!—for 50 cents, a hefty price for a 10-year-old!

From that moment on, Nigel drew comics whenever and wherever he could—scribbling in notebooks during class, turning coloring books into graphic novels, and even sketching during college lectures.

In 2020, during the global shutdown, he self-published his debut comic:

YO, Manwel!!! Boys with Dreams.

The story follows Manwel, a character Nigel created in 8th grade, as he stands up to bullies while chasing his dream of becoming a professional basketball player. The comic quickly became a #1 Best Seller on Amazon.

When he's not creating comics, Nigel enjoys adventuring with his wife, making people laugh, dreaming big, and inspiring others to do the same.
